Our 2022 Viognier Reserve is the GRAND CHAMPION at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition
It is an absolute honor that our 2022 Viognier Reserve took Grand Champion at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition! This is the first time in the competition’s 14-year history that a Texas winery has ever won Grand Champion! Our 2022 Viognier Reserve, grown by Veesart Vineyards in the Texas High Plains, won the top spot out of 913 international entries. Over 324 wineries from around the world submitted wines, including over 47 wineries from Texas.

Vineyard: Veesart Vineyards, Texas High Plains AVA
Terroir: Sandy Clay Loam
Elevation: 3,294 ft
Winemaking: Hand harvested, whole cluster pressed, 1/2 fermented in new French oak barrels and 1/2 stainless steel, aged 8 months in 100% new French oak
Tasting notes: Floral • Dense • Powerful
This was our second vintage working with the Veesarts and we were extremely pleased with the quality of the fruit. The drought-stricken vintage brought very ripe fruit, which offered intense flavors, ample mouthfeel, and the powerful bouquet this grape is known for. The barrel program added texture, depth, and roundness to the wine. We hope you love drinking this wine as much as we do!
